Job Description
Working within a fast-growing packaging company, focused on innovative thermally protective solutions for the distribution of high value, temperature sensitive pharmaceutical products. Reporting to the Group Technical Manager, the CAD Technician will be responsible for supporting and communicating technical activities between sales, production and quality departments. Additionally, supporting the technical team across all projects and innovations and assisting with the workflow of colleagues within the department. Situated within the Group Headquarters you will be connected to a wider Engineering Group with locations in the UK, Spain, India, Singapore, Latin America and USA, the CAD Technician role will offer a great opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their CAD Technician skills within a rapidly expanding environment.
Role and Responsibilities
- As a CAD Technician you will have a practical, hands on approach to your work and will be required to; understand, follow and convey technical matters, demonstrate attention to detail to ensure accuracy of records and documentation, possess good organisational and project management skills and be proficient in various software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Supporting design processes within the technical team and wider Softbox Group
- Maintain technical documentation in line with company’s change control system
- Maintain technical databases; Technical (internal filing) and Business (external filing, intranet).
- Supporting Product Coordinator with Sage X3 activities and commercial BOM creation.
- Supporting New Product Implementation through the generation of pertinent technical documentation
- Generate material, product specification drawings and imagery.
- Ensure adherence to all procedures and processes set up within the quality system.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the quality systems in use within the company
- Contribute to the development of the laboratory capabilities.
